Profile the immune response at the depth modern programmes demand

Immune biology is defined by complex cytokine and inflammatory signalling, from autoimmune disease and chronic inflammation through to infection severity. Much of that signalling sits at concentrations standard methods cannot resolve.

We measure it on validated multiplex endpoints, ultra-sensitive single-molecule assays and discovery-scale profiling, in one laboratory, with data in two weeks.

WHY IT MATTERS

The immune system sits at the centre of disease biology

From autoimmune conditions to chronic inflammatory disease to the acute response driving infection severity, immune biology runs through nearly every programme we support.

It also poses a consistent analytical challenge. The biology is rarely one marker at one timepoint. It spans multiple immune pathways, several orders of magnitude in concentration and a time course. A cytokine that matters at day three may be undetectable at day one, and a marker that drives severity may sit three logs below the one that defines the endpoint.

That is why immune-response work spans one of the widest analytical ranges in translational research: from validated cytokine, chemokine, serology and immunogenicity endpoints already written into trial protocols, through to femtogram-level early-response signals and broad discovery profiling.

Most laboratories are built for one part of that range, so a programme that needs two parts usually ends up with two suppliers. We cover the full range in one laboratory.

HOW IT WORKS

Validated endpoints and discovery depth in one workflow

Immune programmes often need two analytical modes at the same time: validated, reproducible tools for endpoints already written into trial protocols, and ultra-sensitive discovery platforms for biology that has not yet become standard.

Running both here keeps discovery, validation and follow-on measurement in the same analytical environment – same samples, same QC framework.

Profile amyloid, multiple tau species, NfL, GFAP, synaptic proteins and neuroinflammatory mediators from a single CSF or plasma draw.

Used in Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body disease and rare neurological disorders.

How this usually runs

Broad NULISA profiling identifies the immune signals that separate responders from non-responders, or severe from mild. Then the programme narrows.

The markers carrying the signal move onto MSD for validated multiplex measurement, or onto Simoa where a single marker needs the deepest sensitivity and the strongest literature record. That validated set then supports the endpoint, the monitoring or the stratification.

All of this happens in one laboratory, so moving between stages never means a new supplier, a new chain of custody or inter-lab differences to reconcile at analysis.

NULISAseq needs 25 µL of sample and NULISAqpcr needs 35 µL. Ship about 10 µL more than the assay requires, so 35 µL for NULISAseq and 45 µL for NULISAqpcr, which covers dead volume and leaves enough for a repeat. MSD and Simoa requirements are assay-dependent

340 immune targets from a single small sample

The NULISAseq Inflammation Panel 250 and Immune 340 Panel measure hundreds of cytokines, chemokines and immune mediators from a single small-volume sample – enough breadth to see the whole response, not just the markers you expected.

Where a target needs absolute quantification, we confirm it on Simoa or MSD in the same laboratory, under the same chain of custody.

We run Simoa on the SR-X alongside NULISA, MSD and sequencing.

All of them are ours, so the recommendation you get is a scientific one. If your target is better served by NULISA or MSD we will say so, and the work stays with us either way.

Homebrew development means we are not limited to the catalogue.

Where no commercial Simoa assay exists for your target, we can build one.
