Build the biomarker evidence your programme needs to move forward

Preclinical development asks different questions from discovery.

Is the drug engaging its target? At what dose does the pharmacodynamic effect appear? Are safety signals emerging? Which of these biomarkers will still work when you measure them in humans?

Tell us about your model and your targets

Tell us the species, the targets, the dose groups and where the programme is heading. We will tell you which assays cover your markers in that species, whether cross-reactivity needs checking, and how to design the work so the method carries into first-in-human.

We will reply within one working day.

WHY IT MATTERS

Preclinical biomarker work makes three demands that discovery does not.

Preclinical biomarker work has three particular demands, and they are what distinguish it from discovery.

Across species

The same biological target may need measuring in animal models and later in human samples, with enough confidence to interpret what translates and what was species-specific. An assay that works beautifully in mouse and has no human equivalent has told you very little about your drug.

Across phases

The analytical method used preclinically should carry into clinical work wherever possible, so results stay comparable as the programme advances. Changing method between preclinical and clinical introduces a variable you then have to defend.

Under scrutiny

Target engagement, pharmacodynamic, safety and toxicology endpoints may contribute to regulatory-relevant decisions and need analytical documentation to match.

What works preclinically should be built to travel.

Built to bridge mouse and human

The costliest preclinical mistake is not an assay that fails. It is an assay that works – but measures something with no human equivalent, or uses a method you cannot run on clinical samples.

Both problems can be avoided at the design stage. Both are hard to fix later.

Same platform, both sides of the transition

We run NULISAseq panels for both mouse and human samples, covering the same inflammation and neurology biology. Because the chemistry, readout and analysis stay the same, any difference between your preclinical and clinical results is far more likely to be real biology than a change in method.

Cross-reactivity checked before you commit

For custom assays, we check at the feasibility stage whether the antibodies work in both species. You find out before preclinical validation, not after.

The team stays with the programme

The same scientists who run your preclinical work stay on for the clinical phase. No handover, no new supplier to brief when the stakes are highest.

Why you can trust this now

Most cross-species work relies on human reagents that may or may not recognise the mouse target. The NULISAseq Mouse Panel 120 is purpose-built and validated for murine samples – so your preclinical data reflects mouse biology, not reagent luck.

Working in another species? We develop custom assays wherever suitable antibody pairs exist.

We run Simoa on the SR-X alongside NULISA, MSD and sequencing.

All of them are ours, so the recommendation you get is a scientific one. If your target is better served by NULISA or MSD we will say so, and the work stays with us either way.

Homebrew development means we are not limited to the catalogue.

Where no commercial Simoa assay exists for your target, we can build one.

Quote

Within one working day

Up to 1,000-fold greater than conventional ELISA.

Femtogram-per-millilitre for many targets.

Sample confirmation

Sample volume

NULISAseq needs 25 µL of sample and NULISAqpcr needs 35 µL. Ship about 10 µL more than the assay requires, so 35 µL and 45 µL respectively, which covers dead volume and leaves enough for a repeat. Volume per animal is the binding constraint in murine work, so tell us what you can collect per timepoint and we will design around it
